ABOUT US
The international early music festival MUSICA AD CONFLUENTEM was established initially as a small project focused on medieval, renaissance and baroque music in 2018. The newly established festival aims to introduce audiences to these wonderful eras in music performed by renowned Czech and international musicians and ensembles.

The "confluence" not only refers to the merging of the Vltava and Malše rivers in our city of České Budějovice, but also the symbolic intertwining of several centuries of music, all of which can be heard at the 2020 festival.
Five Czech ensembles can be heard as well as two guest ensembles from abroad, enriching our already varied programme. The festival prides itself on giving performance opportunities to young musicians and ensembles in addition to early music workshops, which are available to anybody who is interested in the interpretation of early music on historical instruments.

Our ambition is not to compete with the larger South Bohemian music festivals in Český Krumlov and České Budějovice. However, we want to offer you beautiful music produced by the finest ensembles.
